At a reactive hypoglycemia medical diet, meals should be organized for 3 main and 3 snack courses. Between the main courses there should be 5 hours time elapse and for snacks it should be cared for 2 to 3 hours elapse time. Never the less the same diet treatment should not be applied for working people who start their day at 11:00 in the morning and finalize the day at midnight hours. To get results the diet should be adapted to the patients life conditions (work, social life).
At reactive hypoglycemia medical treatment nutritions that have high Glycemia index value should be consumed. The Glycemia index (Gi) is a measurement system to find the glucose levels of carbohydrates affecting the blood system. This treatment cannot be limited to carbohydrate consumption, but could only be advised for nutritions that have low Gi levels such as (bulghur, whole wheat, rye, vegetables, salads) . Never the less it is not easy to find these nutritions in our daily lives. Because we encounter with nutritions that have high Gi levels (pastry made from flour, sweets, biscuits, cookies, fruit juice, pilaf, potatoes,.. etc.) at parties, receptions, cocktails, and our work environments. These effect the persons adjustment for the diet treatment that they have. For this; diet programs which are easy to consume at portion of the nutritions should be given as treatment for the patients.
Another important headline for reactive hypoglycemia is alcohol. Alcohol consumption at a empty stomach and over consumption will trigger reduction of diabetic levels.
Protein consumption originating form animal products, such as chicken, meat, fish and eggs are essential at reactive hypoglycemia treatments. Proteins in milk, pectin in almonds and apple, and sediments in vegetables will prevent drop of diabetic levels after consumption of food. Thus the consumption levels of these foods will differ to the persons past regarding cholesterol levels, deficiency of blood levels, hypotiroid illness, arthritis problems, and heart disease. Because the carbohydrate consumption quantity of a person is related to his/her energy demand. Daily energy consumption is defined on the persons sex, age, height, weight and activity levels.
We should not forget that, medical diet programs are customized for each individual separately, and only dietitians can apply this for their patients.
