The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi during his official visit to the Republic of Turkey, together with Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo Avni Spahiu and Ambassador of the Republic of Albania Genci Mucaj cut the inaugural ribbon of the Albanian Cultural Center Sami Frashëri in Ankara, marking a milestone in public diplomacy and strengthening links with the Kosovar and Albanian diaspora.
The building of the Albanian Cultural Center Sami Frashëri is a gift from the municipality of Altındağ. This is the first cultural center that will be managed jointly by the embassies of Kosovo and Albania and will serve as a model for other similar centers in countries where our diaspora is concentrated.
This center was created 115 years after the publication of Sami's masterpiece Shqipëria çka qenë, çështë e çdo të bëhet and bears his glorious name.
Frashëri is a unique intellectual figure appreciated and honored not only by Kosovan and Albanians, but also by the Turkish people, and, as such, serves as a significant symbol of the strong historical connection between our peoples.
