The 23rd traditional wine tasting of Kavaklidere Wineries “Primeur 2013 red & white,” hosted by Başman family, was held at the Ankara Hilton on Thursday. The wines were produced by Kavaklidere Wine Company from 2013 vintage grapes and were tasted for the first time.
Until the third Thursday of November, shop windows throughout France, and especially in Paris, are adorned with posters to announce the “Beaujolais Nouveau” are on market.
In Turkey, Kavaklıdere is the first and only wine producer continuing this special winery tradition since 1988. For 23 years the company in Ankara, has released its new fresh red and white wine to wine-lovers.
Primeur wines, prepared by the last vintage grapes, complete their maturing progress quicker than other wines. Since they are bottled during fermentation, these wines are aromatic, light and smooth.
A characteristic of these fresh wines is their different fermentation techniques. These techniques enrich the aroma of the wines. They should be consumed within six months and at the most within a year, as the Primeur loses its qualities and especially its aroma the longer it stays in the bottle.
This year’s event hosted many guests including prominent figures of the community as well as many diplomatic members.
